MANUFACTURING PROCES

The plant manufactures seamless tubes and pipes of all grades of stainless steel. The plant is committed to quality assurance of the highest standard, in process, product and services. Stringent system based quality controls are exercised at each and every stage of production.

HOT FINISHED STAINLESS STEEL TUBES AND PIPES

Peeled rounds of required diameters are heated in an induction furnace and are then processed through the 2500 metric tons extrusion press. The plant has the necessary  extrusion press. The hollows are then finished as required and tested as per the customer's requirement.

Outside diameter :

50.8 mm to 121.0 mm

Wall thickness :

4.5 mm to 16 mm

COLD FINISHED STAINLESS STEEL TUBES AND PIPES

High quality seamless hollows are cold finished on cold draw benches and cold pilgers. The plant has a large number of cold pilger mills, draw benches with matching surface treatment, solution annealing ,bright annealing, finishing and testing facilities.

Diameter :

8.0 mm mm to 114.3 mm

Wall thickness :

0.75 mm to 10 mm

MANUFACTURING INFRASTRUCTURE

For manufacturing the above range, the plant uses modern tube making equipment in combination with processes of Hot Extrusion, Cold Pilgering and Cold Drawing.

HOT EXTRUSION PROCES

Heated rounds are processed through the extrusion press to produce high quality, high strength hot finished pipes in stainless steel. The plant has an extrusion press and produces hot finished pipes, hollow bars and also mother pipes for its cold finishing. The production range covers pipes from 50.8 mm to 121 mm with wall thickness of 4.5 mm to 16 mm.

COLD PILGERING PROCESS

Cold pilgering process is the established process to manufacture stainless and high alloy tubes. This is due to the high reduction of area which enables it to produce tubes of high metallurgical structure with favourable material characteristics. The plant has a large pilgering capacity of 12 pilgers and the manufacturing range is from 4.5 mm to 120 mm with wall thickness from 4.5 mm to 16 mm.

COLD DRAWING PROCESS

Cold drawing is used to produce tubes of precise tolerance. The initial hollow is stretched and processed to obtain better tolerance and surface finish.

QUALITY SYSTEMS

Tubinox is committed to quality assurance and quality control of highest standards, in both its product and services. Stringent systems based on quality control is exercised at each and every stage of process and production. The service standards focuses on customer’s requirement and aims for high satisfaction.

Full metallurgical analysis – physical properties, chemical analysis, corrosion testing and microstructure analysis are carried out in the fully equipped lab.

Non destructive testing is carried out on the tubes and pipes through sophisticated testing systems.

Some of the quality tests carried out are:

Mechanical testing

Tensile, Hardness, Flaring, Flattening etc in full compliance with the relevant standards

  Corrosion testing

         Susceptibility to intergranullar corrosion as per ASTM A 262 – A, B, C, D and E

Laboratory testing

Grain size, ferrite determination and micro structural examination

Hydrostatic testing

Eddy current testing

Ultrasonic testing

Third party inspections like agencies TUV, Lloyds etc is also possible
